Location: Cemetery & Public WorksReports to:   Public Works Operations Manager
Status: Full Time – Permanent – 40.0 hours per week Union: IBEW Local 1730
Wage: $31.78/hour with benefits as per the current IBEW Local 1730 Collective Agreement. 
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Public Works Operations Manager, the successful candidate will maintain the cemetery grounds, locate, prepare and record burial plots and columbarium’s; assist public and monument dealers with grave locations; and work as an Equipment Operator II (Light) as required when there is no cemetery work.
 
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to effectively operate departmental equipment including trucks, tractor with mower, etc as determined by the employer
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Previous cemetery and equipment operation would be an asset
  • Have and maintain a valid Class “D” driver’s license with a “Z” endorsement for air brake vehicles
  • A demonstrated courteous and polite manner when dealing with the public; and,
  • Organizational skills
