Location:  Dryden Regional Airport Reports to: Airport Manager                                                                         
Position: Term, Full Time, 40.0 hours/week for up to eight months or until return of incumbent
Hourly Wage:  
Internal applicant: Current rate of pay for the first 30 days worked then increasing to $33.44/hour.
 All other. Benefits will continue as per incumbents’ current entitlements as per the IBEW Collective Agreement.
External applicant: The first 30 days worked $30.10/hour, after 30 days works $33.44/hour for the remainder of
 the term with benefits as per the Employment Standards Act.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Airport Manager, performs   the maintenance duties associated with maintaining and repairing all runways, airfield components, grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment under the jurisdiction of the Dryden Regional Airport to a level that meets all pertinent safety and air transportation regulations. Also completes assigned administrative tasks and record keeping as it relates to aerodrome certification program requirements as well as City of Dryden and Airport policies.
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Two (2) years of heavy equipment operations experience would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Airport operations and/or general facility maintenance operations would be an asset
  • An aptitude for general/routine mechanical repair and service work
  • Have, or ability to obtain, an Airport Vehicle Operating Permit (AVOP) within one (1) week of employment
  • Have, or ability to obtain, a Restricted Radio Telephone Operators Certificate, Class “D”, within one (1) week of employment
  • Fire Arms License – possession only - would be an asset
  • Have and maintain a valid DZ license – must submit a clean driver’s abstract prior to start date
  • Able to communicate effectively with Airport tenants, and contractors working on the property.
  • Demonstrate superior problem solving and analytical skills
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain
  • Must provide a clean criminal background check (prior to start date at candidate’s expense)
  • Must be reliable and able to work in a modified work week environment – including afternoons, evenings and weekends
