Casual – Required on a casual basis as staffing requirements dictate
Hourly Wage:  $27.53/hour with benefits as per the Employment Standards Act
Job Summary:  Under the direction of the Director of Community Services, the successful applicant will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the day to day operations of the MyLift service.
 Duties include:
  • Driving a specialized transit vehicle
  • Operation of a wheelchair lift (hydraulic)
  • Use of wheelchair securing system (training will be provided)
  • Assist and be able to work with clients as stipulated under the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA) and senior citizens.
  • Handling of trip fares
  • Ensure general vehicle maintenance and cleanliness both inside and out
  • Basic computer operations would be considered an asset
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Past experience driving a passenger bus considered an asset
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain
  • Cash handling experience
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Experience in customer/public service environment and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have and maintain a valid “G” license
  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain and submit a Criminal Background/Vulnerable Sector Check and driver’s abstract, at their own expense, prior to start date.
