Hours of Work: This is casual employment with hours determined as per staffing & program requirements. | |
Hourly Wage: $17.67 - $23.55 per hour based on certifications as per the IBEW Collective Agreement all other benefits as per ESA. | |
Job Summary: This position requires applicants to be a minimum 15 years of age. Lifeguard: To use trained lifeguard techniques to effectively supervise swimmers, prevent aquatic injury, enforce rules to patrons and obtain emergency medical assistance as required. Instructor: To instruct children and adults in swimming skills and water safety knowledge; to teach entry level leadership courses which instruct candidates to respond to increasingly complex rescue situations. | |
Position Requirements: Required Certifications: • Valid Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard certification, or equivalent • Workplace Standard First Aid/CPR Level C Certification, Preferred certifications, or willingness to obtain the following: • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification, or willingness to obtain • Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor certification, or willingness to obtain • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Trainer certification, or willingness to obtain • Waterfit Instructor, or willingness to obtain Successful applicants, 18 years of age or older, will be required to obtain and submit a clean Criminal Background/Vulnerable Sector check at their own expense prior to their start date. | |
