Wage: $30.57 as Lifeguard/Instructor and $37.65 as Specialized Instructor with benefits as per the current IBEW Local 1730 Collective Agreement | ||
Job Summary: Lifeguard: To use trained lifeguard techniques to effectively supervise swimmers, prevent aquatic injury, enforce rules to patrons and obtain emergency medical assistance as required. Instructor: To instruct children and adults in swimming skills and water safety knowledge; to teach entry level leadership courses which instruct candidates to respond to increasingly complex rescue situations. | ||
Position Requirements: Required Certifications:
Preferred certifications, or willingness to obtain the following: • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification, or willingness to obtain • Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor certification, or willingness to obtain • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Trainer certification, or willingness to obtain • Waterfit Instructor, or willingness to obtain Successful applicants will be required to obtain and submit a clean Criminal Background/Vulnerable Sector check at their own expense prior to their start date. | ||
